Shag, MIDNIGHT POOL PARTY in Palm Springs… (92cm x 164)

James Bond could probably be probable at this Ultra-Hip Pool Party. Then again, he may have had a bit too much to drink and called it an evening?

What is a better setting for a party than the awesome Elrod House, designed by John Lautner, the late famed architect? In this unique Palm Springs villa in Southern California, many scenes were filmed in the 1971 “Diamonds are Forever” James Bond movie, starring Sean Connery. Arthur Elrod (for whom the home was built) was a famous interior decorator frequently featured in Architectural Digest early issues. He and his partner, the late Hal Broderick, commissioned this architectural masterpiece from John Lautner in the 1960s.

The owner of this famous modern villa since 2016 is fashion designer Jeremy Scott, who is the creative director of the fashion house Moschino. Celebrities have seen here visiting this home like Madonna, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Paris Hilton, and others.

FRAMING INFORMATION:

FLOATING-FRAME WHITE: The serigraph is permanently attached to an acid-free foam core lift, hidden behind the work but mounted to a supporting white acid-free archival museum mat board. A spacer is used to create a depth between the glass and the art. The result is a look that keeps the art “floated” in the center of the frame. The depth that the foam core lift creates a slight shadow around the art, drawing extra attention to what makes it special. Placed in a 2.5cm wide, 4cm deep USA made white matte retro wood-frame an a 1cm wide light purple inner wood frame showing all sides a 4cm margin of the mat board, covered with museum glass for archival longevity.

DESCRIPTION:

SHAG’s limited editions introduced in Budapest are produced using the silk-screen (serigraph) printing method. Serigraphy for additional color depth, saturation, density, and texture is a perfect match to SHAG’s painting style.

He is collaborating with Kolibri Art Studio atelier in Los Angeles for decades for unparalleled quality at enormous sizes for always a small, limited edition of 200 serigraphs only. Anywhere from 10 to 25 colors (some colors are printed twice for optimum quality) with hand color-separation, required 2 months to print since it is very labor-intensive to complete these unique editions. His media choice is always the US-made, 100% rag 2 or 4-ply “Rising Museum Board” brand, acid-free, thick archival paper, only with 5cm margins left outside the live area. For the finish, SHAG requires a very expensive UV matte clear coat application made for silk-screen printing for preserving the extra longevity of the serigraph print.
