This famous 1997 painting depicts the annual New York City Marathon run, traditionally held on the first Sunday in November since 1970.
This meticulous masterpiece takes the viewer through the Big Apple, literally every nook and cranny of the city, revealing new and colorful details.
The artwork even features the 417-meter-tall TWIN TOWERS complex in lower Manhattan, destroyed by Jihad terrorism in 2001, as if smiling as they contemplate each other. Most strikingly, the landmarks are shown in the day and night divisions typical of individual districts. James Rizzi has placed many smiling buildings, a variety of colorful boats and sailboats, thousands of active runners, and passers-by, all waiting for the viewer of the painting to discover the more than a thousand of small, fascinating, and hilarious happenings of New-York’s urban landscape.
Love, joy, and optimism shimmer in lavish color and fantasy from his creations, as seen in this one-of-the-kind and unique rare serigraph. Our gallery is proud to represent exclusively RIZZI in Budapest.
The serigraph in our gallery is the only existing Printer’s Proof 1/1 (atelier’s studio color-proof 1/1) available, donated to the atelier by Rizzi. His initials, can be found in the lower right corner of the painting as J R. Do not miss your chance to acquire the one and only original masterpiece of his work of art!
The artwork includes a Certificate of Authenticity (C.O.A.) issued by our gallery.
