LIVE ON THE STRIP – Hollywood’s Sunset Strip Rock-Clubs

We sure miss the 70’s, 80’s & 90’s Sunset Strip in West-Hollywood with in-line the legendary LA-i Rock Clubs:

Whiskey a Go-Go, where groups like Doors, Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, Kiss performed since the middle of the 1960s. At the Roxy Club-Theatre rock-group Gun’s and Roses recorded Live at the Roxy album in 1986. The club’s top floor hidden bar was a regular hangout for John Lennon, Alice Cooper, and Keith Moon during Lennon’s “lost weekend” in 1973-74. Rainbow Bar & Grill since 1971, known as a hangout for rock musicians. Notable regulars at this period include Elton John, Ringo Starr, Bob Marley, Neil Diamond, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Billy Idol, and Mötley Crüe. Today, all three clubs serve as a hotspot and are seen for much of the young population in Los Angeles.

We sincerely thank SHAG for hand-signing and numbering these PPs to his 2nd gallery in Europe, in Budapest. These P/P serigraphs include the Certificate of Authenticity/C.O.A. issued by the gallery.

FRAMING INFORMATION:

FLOATING-FRAME: The art is permanently attached to an acid-free foam core lift, hidden behind the work but mounted to a supporting white acid-free archival museum mat board. A spacer is used to create a depth between the glass and the art. The result is a look that keeps the art “floated” in the center of the frame. The depth that the foam core lift creates a slight shadow around the art, drawing extra attention to what makes it special. Placed in a 2.5cm wide, 4cm deep USA made matte retro wood-frame, showing all sides a 4cm margin of the mat board, covered with museum glass for archival longevity.

DESCRIPTION:

SHAG’s limited editions introduced in Budapest are produced using the silk-screen (serigraph) printing method. Serigraphy for additional color depth, saturation, density, and texture is a perfect match to SHAG’s painting style.

He is collaborating with Kolibri Art Studio atelier in Los Angeles for decades for unparalleled quality at enormous sizes for always a small, limited edition of 200 serigraphs only. Anywhere from 10 to 25 colors (some colors are printed twice for optimum quality) with hand color-separation, required 2 months to print since it is very labor-intensive to complete these unique editions. His media choice is always the US-made, 100% rag 2 or 4-ply “Rising Museum Board” brand, acid-free, thick archival paper, only with 5cm margins left outside the live area. For the finish, SHAG requires a very expensive UV matte clear coat application made for silk-screen printing for preserving the extra longevity of the serigraph print.
