SPIDERMAN carrying Mary Jane Watson surrounded by iconic villains – what’s not to love?
The SPIDERMAN’s creator, the legendary Stan Lee, Marvel Comics primary creative leader since the 1950s, collaborated with SHAG on this limited serigraph edition. Stan, a Hollywood icon and respected film-studio director, co-created the Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, X-Men, The Avengers, Captain America, and Marvel’s most successful character, Spiderman. Stan Lee oversaw, gave input to, and approved the final product, but unfortunately left this world too soon to sign the print edition as he originally intended. He passed away at age 95 in November of 2018. Stan asked SHAG to make a cameo appearance in the serigraph; he is on the second floor on the right side, between the two ladies.

DESCRIPTION:
SHAG’s limited editions introduced in Budapest are produced using the silk-screen (serigraph) printing method. Serigraphy for additional color depth, saturation, density, and texture are a perfect match to SHAG’s painting style.
He is collaborating with Kolibri Art Studio, Inc. in Los Angeles for decades for unparalleled quality at enormous sizes for always a small, limited edition of 200 serigraphs only. Anywhere from 10 to 25 colors (some colors are printed twice for optimum quality) with hand color-separation, required 2 months to print since it is very labor-intensive to complete these unique editions. He’s media choice is always the 100% rag 2 or 4-ply acid-free museum boards only with a 2” margins left outside the live area. For the finish, SHAG requires a special and very costly UV matte clear coat (varnish) screened on for preserving the extra longevity of the serigraph print.
